Derrick has immense experience in the debt capital markets and corporate finance advisory from his days of being in a commercial bank, a discount house and then a corporate advisory outfit of Phileo Allied Group (now known as Pos Malaysia) which was then widely recognized as one of the most innovative financial institutions in Malaysia. Prior to founding Fiscalab Group and Sungei Wang Group, he was the Director of a Malaysian public-listed conglomerate with two listed companies in Malaysia and one listed company in Hong Kong coupled with substantial investments in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam and Australia. He is instrumental in diversifying Sungei Wang Group into potential new areas of business activities after the disposal of Sungei Wang Plaza to the Capitaland Retail Group of Singapore in 2008.
